Key Documentation for Seamless Visa Applications
For residents of Sindh and Balochistan, applications are submitted through VFS Global (Gerry’s) in Karachi. Generally, no prior appointment is required; you can visit during their designated submission hours (usually 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM) to submit your documents.
While there is no fixed official amount, it is highly recommended to show a 6-month bank statement with a closing balance of at least PKR 1,000,000 for solo travelers. For families, a balance of PKR 2,500,000 or more is advisable to cover all travel and accommodation costs.
Japan requires a mandatory, detailed day-to-day itinerary. This document must list your daily activities, the names and contact details of the hotels where you will stay, and your planned entry and exit dates. Vague descriptions like “Sightseeing” are often not accepted.
If you are traveling strictly for tourism and staying in hotels, an invitation letter is not required. However, if you are visiting friends or relatives, you must provide an Invitation Letter and a Letter of Guarantee from your host in Japan.
Standard processing at the Japanese Consulate in Karachi typically takes 6 to 10 working days once the application is received from the visa center. It is always best to apply at least 3 to 4 weeks before your intended travel date to account for any unexpected delays.
